Healthy Snacks: Roasted Turnip and Garlic Dip

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 tablespoons roasted sesame seeds
  • 3 cups chopped and roasted turnips
  • 1 tablespoon fresh squeezed lemon juice
  • 2-3 large roasted garlic cloves
  • 2 tablespoons olive sesame or avocado oil
  • ½ teaspoon sea salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • Breton Gluten Free Crackers

Instructions

  • Roast your turnips and garlic in the oven at 350° F for about an hour. Allow to cool.
  • Grind the sesame seeds into a powder, either in a morter and pestle or high powered blender.
  • Add all of the ingredients to a blender (we use a Blendtec) and blend the ingredients together.
  • Scrape down the sides as needed and keep blending. You can add additional lemon juice or olive oil if more liquid is needed.
  • Taste and add spices to taste.
