DIY Lavender Salt Scrub Bars

An Even Better Exfoliator than Sugar!

DIY Salt Scrub Bars work extremely well for exfoliating rough patches of dry, dead skin. Salt is an even better exfoliant than sugar!

Since salt is rougher on skin than sugar, I like to add lavender essential oil to salt scrub bars to help soothe skin as it’s exfoliated.

– ½ pound melt and pour soap – 1 teaspoon sweet almond oil – 10 drops lavender oil – 3 teaspoons sea salt – 2-3 drops soap colorant – Rubbing alcohol spray bottle – Silicone mold – Double Boiler

How to make super exfoliating lavender salt scrub bars

1

Melt Soap Base

Cut the soap base into squares and place into a double boiler. Heat over medium until the soap base is melted and clear.

2

Add Sweet Almond Oil

Once the soap is melted, add the sweet almond oil to the double boiler and stir to combine.

3

Add Essential Oils

Remove the pan from heat and allow the mixture to cool slightly (but not harden), then add the essential oils.

4

Add the Colorant

Add the food coloring to the soap and oil mixture, then stir until it's evenly distributed.
