Essential Oil Bug Spray DIY

Easy and Safe DIY Bug Spray

We stopped using commercial bug sprays many years ago. We’ve tried some natural bug sprays, but it’s so easy to make your own Homemade Bug Spray that there’s no reason to buy it.

My essential oil bug spray recipe uses only simple ingredients with 3 different essential oils – eucalyptus, rosemary and lemon.

– 1 oz high-proof grain alcohol – 45 drops eucalyptus oil – 40 drops rosemary oil – 20 drops lemon oil – 3 ounces distilled water – Small funnel – 4-oz glass spray bottle

How to make Essential Oil Bug Spray

Add Alcohol to Spray Bottle

Add one ounce of high proof grain alcohol, like 91% Everclear, to your glass spray bottle.

Add the Essential Oils

Add eucalyptus, rosemary and lemon essential oils to the spray bottle and allow them to dissolve into the alcohol for 1 hour.

Add the Water

Top off your glass spray bottle with distilled water. You’ll use about a teaspoon less than 3 ounces.
