Christmas crafting was one of my favorite things to do as a kid. My best friend's mom had the best selection of crafting supplies I had ever seen, and every year we'd make Christmas decorations and ornaments long into the night.
I want to pass that love of crafting onto my daughters, so we have been doing a lot of Christmas crafts this year. I have always especially loved Christmas ornaments, so this year we've been adding to our collection. There is nothing better than handmade ornaments – memories live within them!
The latest round of ornaments we made were DIY Paint Swirled Ornaments. We only made a few of them – I think the girls may be just a bit too young for this one so I did most of the creating this time. We'll do more in a few more years.
I love this craft because you don't need a lot of supplies and it can be done quickly with relatively little mess. And they come out very pretty!
- Pop the top off of your ornament.
- Put a couple drops of paint in the top of the ornament (choose 2-3 different colors).
- Tap and swirl the ornament around, and continue adding paint and then tapping and swirling until the entire inside is coated.
- Set aside to dry.
- Once dry, pop the top back on the ornament and you're all set!
